Mary George is an Instructional Coach and Special Education educator with experience across the full continuum of special education services. She began her career in education teaching in a self-contained 8:1:1 and 12:1:1 middle school classroom before transitioning to elementary special education and inclusive classroom settings. Her work has focused on supporting students with diverse learning needs through evidence-based instructional practices, differentiated instruction, and inclusive educational opportunities.
Currently, Mary supports teachers and school leaders within New York City Public Schools through instructional coaching, professional development, and literacy and math initiatives. In addition, she has spent the past six years contributing to restorative justice curriculum development for the New York City Department of Education, helping schools foster equitable, student-centered learning environments.
Prior to entering education, Mary held leadership roles in the international business sector, where she led teams, developed programs, and facilitated organizational initiatives. She brings this unique combination of educational expertise and leadership experience to her work preparing future educators. Her professional interests include special education, inclusive practices, literacy and math instruction, restorative justice, and teacher development.
