Kelsey Carroll is a dedicated special education professional with over 11 years of experience serving students with diverse learning needs across New York City Public Schools. She began her career as a paraprofessional within District 75 before joining the NYC Teaching Fellows program, where she pursued her passion for education and earned a Master of Science in Teaching in Adolescent Special Education from Pace University.
Over the past eight years, Kelsey has served as a special education teacher in District 75, working in self-contained classrooms including 6:1:1, 8:1:1, and 12:1:1 settings. Throughout her career, she has been trained in therapeutic crisis intervention, restorative justice and implicit bias. She is committed to creating inclusive, student-centered learning environments that support academic growth, independence, and social-emotional development for students with a wide range of abilities.
Currently, Kelsey serves as a Special Education Teacher Support Services (SETSS) provider in Corona, Queens, where she continues to support students through individualized instruction and targeted interventions. In addition to her instructional work, she collaborates closely with the NYCPS Office of Teacher Recruitment and Quality as a Peer Recruiter. In this role, she helps attract, support, and develop future educators by participating in recruitment initiatives, mentoring candidates, and contributing to efforts that strengthen the educator workforce across New York City.
Kelsey is passionate about educational equity, teacher development and creating opportunities for all students to succeed. Her experience in both classroom instruction and educator recruitment provides her with a unique perspective on building strong educational communities that support students, families and school staff alike.
